Helen Zille is to participate in yet another march against drugs and drug dealers on the Cape Flats - this time in Atlantis. A week ago, on the 9th September 2007, she was arrested in Mitchells Plain and charged with being part of an illegal gathering.

Zille, who is the Mayor of Cape Town and also the leader of the Democratic Alliance, has slammed her previous arrest as being politically motivated. She vowed to sue for wrongful arrest.

The ANC condemned the actions of the police during Zille's arrest.

Currently she plans to continue her campaign against drugs and drug dealers on the Cape Flats communities by visibly protesting against the trade. DA spokesperson, Martin Slabbert, says that a party of 300 people have been given permission to march in Atlantis.
