Roads to close for Twenty20 Cricket Tournament in Newlands

The City Council has announced that some of the roads around the Newlands Cricket Stadium will be closed during the Twenty20 matches in order to provide a Traffic Free Zone.

  • Campground Road, at the intersections of Main and Protea Roads;
  • Palmyra and Keurboom Roads;
  • Mariendahl Avenue at Palmyra Road;
  • Mona Crescent at Palmyra Road;
  • Kelvin Road at the corner of the Kelvin Grove Bowling Greens;
  • Sport Pienaar Road at the Boundary Road Traffic Circle;
  • and Letterstedt Road at Mill Street
will be closed on match days. The closures will last from 4am to 7pm on September 20, 6am to 6pm on September 22, and from 9am to 11pm on other match days. These times are, however, subject to change at the last minute.

Park-and-Ride facilities will be available to spectators.

The Cape Town leg of the tournament commences on Wednesday.
