Bomb scare at Somerset Mall

People had to be evacuated from Somerset Mall on Thursday (13 September 2007) after emergency services received an anonymous bomb threat.

Police Inspector Billy Jones said that an Information Kiosk received the telephone call and staff immediately alerted Somerset Mall Management and the police services.

Derrick Banks, spokesperson for ER24 said that they received a call regarding the bomb scare and when they arrived, the police were already evacuating people from the mall.

Sniffer dogs were used to locate the bomb, but no device was ever found.
