A 28-year-old mother and her 2-month-old baby have died in a horrific accident on Saturday, when a Golden Arrow bus smashed through the metal barricade on Lansdowne Road bridge in Claremont on Saturday. It is alleged that the bus swerved to avoid hitting a taxi.

According to a report on IOL, the mother and baby were passengers on the bus when the accident occurred. Ten other passengers were seriously injured and taken to hospitals nearby.

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
